The Heart of Suisun Valley
Since the mid-1800s, Manka’s Corner has been the spot where locals and visitors have gathered to unwind, connect, and simply be themselves. Nestled in the heart of Suisun Valley’s burgeoning wine country, it’s where country warmth meets community spirit.
We’re so excited to continue that tradition with our project!
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel like we’re drifting apart, lost in our screens. But we believe that the antidote is simple: community, connection, and a little bit of that open-hearted, country spirit. Imagine stepping into a place where everyone is accepted for who they are. Where unpretentious attitudes, warm smiles and friendship is commonplace. For me, this is the secret ingredient that makes Manka’s Corner truly magical.
I have personal experience with this uncommon hospitality. I moved up to the valley in 2020. Of course, it was during COVID, and other than my best friend and partner, Mark Hall, I only had one friend who lived nearby in Rancho Solano, and they were only there part-time.
From the stories Mark would tell me, I knew that many of the families had been in the valley for four or more generations. People who went to Suisun Elementary together, raised their kids together, whose grandparents were best friends…a lot of history.
As things began to open back up, I wondered if I would be accepted into this close-knit, well-established community, or if people would think that I was too new and weird (I am weird, but that is beside the point!).
What I experienced was the exact opposite! The warmth and kindness I have felt from everyone here in Suisun Valley has filled my heart. Seriously, everyone has extended a hand in friendship and been quick to share a smile and a story. Everyone has a story, and I feel honored to be getting to know our neighbors and all their rich history…I fall a little more in love with the valley every day. I remember the first time I brought my dad up to our Suisun Valley home.  He said, “You’ve got a slice of heaven here”. He couldn’t have been more correct.
Sharing this “slice of heaven” is the motivation for Mark and me to partner with several other wonderful local family businesses in the creation of our re-imagined Manka’s Corner holdings. Initially, we are bringing The Filling Station, The Farmer’s Closet, and Wild Oak Wellness together, offering support and an environment for their small businesses to thrive in our soon-to-be remodeled Manka’s Corner property. This first phase of the Manka’s Meadow project, which we refer to as “Manka’s East”, is being populated intentionally, with businesses that are owned by local entrepreneurs, all of whom live right here in the valley and most of who have been born and raised right here in Suisun Valley. Soon we will be adding a few more businesses, as small businesses are found, including an additional restaurant, a market, and a coffee/tea kiosk. We are striving to make this project as authentic as possible, reflecting the true local energy of some of the valley’s long-established families. And each business selected is designed to reinforce and support the others. This is about synergy, where together, the business mix we are bringing together at Manka’s East, will add up to more than the sum of their parts.Â
We are very consciously designing the tenant spaces and common areas as thoughtful opportunities to connect, and to share our passions and stories. Where we can put our phone down, make eye contact, listen, and laugh. It’s amazing how quickly those moments turn into lasting friendships.
Manka’s East will soon become a place to call home, even if it’s just for a day…Our intention is to create more than just a place to eat, drink, shop, and enjoy music and art. We’re cultivating a patchwork quilt of stories, passions, and experiences.  So, whether you stay for an afternoon or a lifetime, we want you to feel like Manka’s is a part of you, just as you’re a part of this vibrant community. As we continue to polish and enhance this historic spot, we invite you to leave a piece of your heart behind for the next guest to discover.
We can’t wait to see you at the newly remodeled Manka’s East….and soon after, to share with you our expanded vision for the north side of Manka’s Corner…. on our new 15-acre acquisition that we call Manka’s North. This parcel, home to the majestic old Wolfskill Mansion, is the country heart of our Manka’s Meadow project.
So, stay tuned…there is more to come!

This is a useful post for finding broken links within the website, what about links pointing outwards that are broken? I can use a free web service but wondered if this was possible.
Great tool! I am using a redirect plugin to send all my 404’s to my home page but I think it’s slacking sometimes.
